My name is Tisha. I don't like serious conversations - they're so serious. When it comes to Grad time, the less serious the better. And when it comes to being ready for Grad, well, no one's readier than I am.

Like being sweet matters. Like shaving your legs makes all the difference. Right. My dress covers what my pathetic English teacher, Andrews, might call a 'multitude of inadequacies'. Shag 'em. I want to shout out my feelings; I want to broadcast my life. And? Here's what I've seen.

     Boyfriends are only friendly because they're wusses. They're ball-less wonders in a teacup. Screw 'em. I had one once; Lance, a real wonder. This beauty assumed that just because I was cute, I'd smile adoringly every time he'd open his mouth. Yeah, right. Like he and his friends were the experts on women at Marbello High School - gag me! And his friends... a collection of overgrown kindergarten rejects, giggling over their stupid erotic fantasies, sniggering over what they've imagined about our sex lives. Ugh. It's a matter of knowing what your partner wants - isn't it, boys? It's a thing of understanding the needs of women, get it? And - Lance didn't; not with me, anyway. When you think about it, maybe not with anyone else, either.
     So, to get back to Grad day, I'm supposed to hop on board with some acne-faced mommy's boy and bring him home by eleven sharp, virginal and beaming, having had a real humdinger of a time.
     Fat chance.
     However, my company has been sought out by two young gentlemen, neither of them great catches. I have to pick the one who'll appreciate the outfit I've decided to wear. My prom dress? No sweat. I bought this long, slinky black number at the Sally Ann. It's tres sexy, cheap (12.95), and it has an outrageous slit up the side. I've got to laugh at some of the girls in my class swanning off to Holt Renfrew's or wherever, dropping three or four hundred bucks just because they haven't got over the Princess thing yet. Sooo tacky.
     My name's Tisha. Hopefully, never to be forgotten. And I figure all the prom-queen, white-dressy types will feel like Emily Post dinosaurs when I'm through with them. Ta, ta. See y'all in the real world.
