You can call me Lance. I'm a senior here at Marbello High, and my four years here have been a blast. Especially in sports. Coach Johnson says I have a future playing for a professional soccer team. He's going to pull some strings to get me into college, and my folks are right behind him pushing me that way. No problemo.
I've dated a few of the girls at school, and so far, nothing much doing in terms of long termers - you have to shop around, don't you? But. Have I got a hot ticket for Prom night! Melissa said yes! She is definitely the hottest, high class number at Marbello; tall, blond and delicious. The other guys are as jealous as hell. We're going to make one smooth couple. I'm going to stage a manoeuvre - get her alone somewhere and put some serious moves in. Can't hurt. I mean, I've heard things, you know? She is absolutely one total piece and maybe she's ready for a steady, and, like, I'm available - if I get lucky.

     Arthur reads all the time; his glasses get thicker by the year. Like, he's read The Lord of the Rings three times and it wasn't even assigned for class! He's always going on about history, and his history teacher this year is Mr. Markle, who's really cool and always makes his class laugh. He's into science, too. Who knows - someone like Arthur is just the type to stumble into a totally weird invention - like how to make a computer do your homework for you. Cool! Being Arthur, everyone likes him, and he gets a charge out of all the kids at Marbello. Except if you call him Tubby - he is a little chunky - or even worse, Art. Then he has this way of staring at you with those thick glasses of his and raising an eyebrow. We've seen teachers walk away from him when he does that. He's mysterious, sometimes.
     Arthur is open to all kinds of things, even things like dancing and painting. He isn't remotely like his older brother Lance though, preferring chess to soccer. Sports just don't seem to interest him. He got up the courage to ask Rhonda to the Prom, and we're sure they'll make a really dynamite couple.
     If you hear some really fine hip hop blasting out of the locker room before class, no need to wonder who's deejayin'. It's Shayne, but everybody calls him the Marbello Man. He's cool, he plays the keyboards, and a lot of the girls around here find him totally attractive. He likes to joke around and make fun of some of the teachers at Marbello, but he's so good natured that they rarely get angry with him. Watch out though; when you see him and Arthur loitering near the cafeteria together, someone's in for a practical joke. The Marbello Man writes songs, is a wonderful poet and he plays tennis most weekends. We've yet to see who he'll be escorting to the Prom, but our spies tell us he has a little crush on one Tisha. Imagine!
